Add 10 seconds thinking time when on social media

Add 10 more seconds, your next client could be watching you on social media
'Add 10 seconds more thinking time when commenting on social media?
Identify what type of social media user you are, whether it's LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter and find out how you can attract new connections - who may become your favourite client.
- Do you support others when they post on social media?
- Do you quickly click the 'Like' button and scroll past?
- Read and scroll on?
- Think that's a great article and save it to your favourites with good intentions to catch up later?
- Or write a quick comment? - less than 4 words and it won't even register.
Think of it this way, how many people are reading what you write on social media and the comments you make on other people's posts? How many of those reading the comments - are people who will buy once they've found the right person, we all know people buy from people. How many know someone who is already looking for your products or services and will, if they like what they see, follow you, and eventually refer you?
So many questions but think?
By spending maybe 10 seconds more adding a carefully worded, positive reply you will have:
- Told the reader a little about the type of person you are.
- Shown that by supporting the postee, you may in future support them.
- Identified yourself as a person they want to connect with and get to know better
- Proved that you know what you're talking about, without selling to them
Not only are you proving your social worth - you've just increased - or in some cases decreased your brand's credibility
What made me stop in my tracks and realise just how big a deal this is, who was watching?
A national toy buyer on the high street I worked with 5 years ago said: "Gill, you've got some amazing contacts on social media". I was aware I had big names, they almost rarely part, but everyone uses social media to check people out before the first engagement. I wasn't aware she even saw my posts.
Who could be watching you now with a view of working with you?
Take those additional 10 seconds, your next client could be watching.
